At last! Social Media Plug-in to measure Google Analytics traffic from...er, social media!

For the longest time, Google Analytics has not been the prime choice for any analysis related to social media measurement. Even Omniture Site Catalyst, one of GA main competitors, has included capability to measure social media capabilities.

Well, a GA plug in called Greasemonkey has been introduced. It is designed to measure social media metrics right in the UI, which makes tracking SM and website traffic more convenient. There is even the added feature of including the social media emblem in the report.

There is a minor twist. The plug in is based on installing Greasemonkey in the Firefox browser. So users should be using one browser, rather than Chrome, Internet Explorer, or Safari (which competes pretty heavily for my laptop eyeballs).

You can read more about the plug-in here.
